Suikoden 2 was my first Suikoden game and I always found Rune magic and Unite attacks be the best part of the combat for me. If it's anything like the Rune magic in the Suikoden franchise, there is going to be a lot of different spells and that's the fun part. Not sure how they'll go about it in this game, but it's probably the most tactical part of the game. The army versus army portions are where the strategy comes in mostly. I'm sure there will be group-based attacks as well between characters. The combat system isn't too complex, you've got your magic and regular attacks with a bit of party formation to worry about. Suikoden always had this nice turn-based six-party system going on. ![]() sadly, most modern rpgs have reduced party size and battle scale in favor of meticulous character design and complex combat system. when i had 12 vs 20 something battle years ago, i got the chills and loved the game more. big scale combats always have been my dream in rpg. cause they do like making them, up to the very last story arc. and some of them are gonna be available on the great war kind of gameplay (if they do add that into the game tho, albeit they are gonna be updated and not the same as its predecessor).Īnd yea my bet they'll have skippable characters. there are specific characters that fill in on the role of shopkeepers and some activities you do in your HQ (whether it's a castle or a ship idk).
